Dr. Ashish Sharma is an environmental engineer, air-quality and urban sustainability expert, researcher and Founding CEO of Sustainability Alternatives Ltd. His work bridges rigorous scientific evidence, public policy and practical implementation across clean air, climate resilience, Net-Zero transitions and sustainability governance.
His work spans air quality and exposure science, urban sustainability and environmental health, climate policy and greenhouse-gas (GHG) inventories, Net-Zero pathways, sustainable mobility and energy transitions, environmental governance, ESG and climate resilience. He is committed to translating research and evidence into strategic sustainability advisory and practical strategies that help governments, cities, institutions and enterprises make better environmental and climate decisions.

With more than 14 years of interdisciplinary experience across research, government, policy and international institutions, Dr. Sharma has worked at the intersection of air-pollution exposure science, environmental health, urban systems, climate policy and sustainability.
He previously served as Manager - Air Quality at the WRI India Ross Center for Sustainable Cities and has contributed to national climate reporting and greenhouse-gas inventory work with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.
Academic Excellence & Global Recognition
He holds a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Surrey (UK), an MRes from Macquarie University (Australia), an MS from Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), South Korea, and a B.Tech. in Civil Engineering from Aligarh Muslim University (India).
His research on air-pollution exposure in young children has received international recognition and media coverage, including BBC, Deutsche Welle, Forbes and The Telegraph.
